Postgraduate Applicant

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

 

As part of the Online Application process you will be required to upload certain documents.  Please use the guide below to determine the type of documents you will be required to upload.
 
1.       INTERNAL Postgraduate Applications - If you are currently studying at UJ and you are in your final year of undergraduate studies or you have completed your undergraduate studies at UJ and took one or more years study break then you MUST apply using the Online WEB application, having the following documents ready to upload:
 

Ø  Relevant departmental application form.  PLEASE NOTE: Before you submit your online application and upload/email documents, please visit the relevant faculty/department website to confirm additional documentation that might be required e.g. CV, motivation, thesis etc.

 
Please contact UJ's Call Centre on 011 5594555 to ensure that an email address is captured on UJ's student database for a PIN to be emailed to you upon clicking "Request a PIN".
 
 
2.       EXTERNAL Postgraduate Applications - If you have completed your undergraduate studies at another university/tertiary institution, you have to submit the following documentation:
 

Ø  ID document.

Ø  Proof of payment if paid via bank deposit, EFT payment or at UJ’s cashier for a paper application.  PLEASE NOTE: For online application you have to pay the application fee using a credit card.

Ø  Full academic record/transcript of your previous studies.
Ø  Certificate of good conduct from previous university/tertiary institution, if not indicated on the academic record/transcript.
Ø  Previous degree/diploma certificate.
Ø  Relevant departmental application form.  PLEASE NOTE: Before you submit your online application and uploaded documents, please visit the relevant faculty/department website to confirm additional documentation that might be required e.g. CV, motivation, thesis etc.
 

 

PAYMENT IF FIRST-TIME APPLICANTThe R100 non-refundable application fee must be paid online using a credit card.   

If you are a first-time UJ applicant and is not in possession of a credit card then payment must be done at an ABSA Bank and a paper application must be submitted to the Student Enrolment Centre.  The banking details for ABSA is as follows:

(*Ensure that your ID number/student number/passport number is noted in the reference block on the deposit slip).
(**International Applicants outside South Africa may pay, using a swift code ABSA ZAJJ at any bank within their home country) 
 
A copy of the deposit slip/proof of payment (whether made at ABSA or paid on campus) must be submitted with all other relevant documentation that may be required.
 
 

FIRST-TIME POSTGRADUATE APPLICATION

 

STEP 1:

Once the above is noted, click on NEW APPLICATION to begin your online application process. 

Completion of step 1 will generate a student number and PIN.  This will allow you to proceed to step 2. 

STEP 2:

Click ONLINE APPLICATION using the student number and PIN obtained in step 1. 

PLEASE NOTE:  Failure to complete Step 1 and 2 will result in your application being incomplete and will therefore NOT be processed.


UJ STUDENT POSTGRADUATE APPLICATION

STEP 1:

Click ONLINE APPLICATION and use your student number and PIN which you will have to request.  A PIN will then be sent by email or sms.  

PLEASE NOTE:  Failure to complete the above will result in your application being incomplete and will therefore NOT be processed.
